La British Basketball Association ou BBA a été créée en 2007 par un groupe d'investisseur composé notamment de A.C. Green, la première saison devait démarrer en novembre de la même année. Mais avec seulement deux clubs d'engagés (les Coventry Crusaders et les Birmingam Athletics) le démarrage de la BBA a été repoussé en novembre 2008.
