Le Canadian cutting horse est un type de cheval de selle originaire du Canada, sélectionné pour le travail du bétail. Le pays possède une race locale de poney, mais aucune de chevaux. En revanche, l'élevage y est pratiqué à partir d'éléments importés depuis l'arrivée des premiers colons. Élaboré dans la lignée du Quarter Horse, le Canadian Cutting Horse (le cutting est l'activité consistant à séparer les bêtes d'un troupeau, par exemple, pour le marquage) est l'un des produits de cet élevage. Il est exceptionnellement puissant, rapide et agile, et parfait pour le travail du bétail. Reconnu en tant que type, il ne l'est pas en tant que race.
