Carnegie Institution

Le Carnegie Institution de Washington est une fondation de recherche fondée en 1902 par Andrew Carnegie. Ses six axes de recherche sont : botanique, biologie du développement, écologie, géologie et planétologie, astronomie.

L'institut a également soutenue des projets archéologiques dans la péninsule du Yucatán (fouilles de Chichén Itzá et Copán) des années 1910 aux années 1930 sous la direction du mayaniste Sylvanus Morley.
