Absynthe Minded est un groupe de jazz-rock belge originaire de Gand.

Biographie

Formé à l'initiative de Bert Ostyn en 1999, le groupe a sorti en 2005 l'album, New Day, qui contient notamment leur titre le plus connu, My heroics, part one.

Fin 2009, "My Heroics, Part One" est élu meilleur titre de la décennie par Studio Brussel, la radio flamande ayant la plus grosse part de marché chez les 15-45 ans.

En 2004, le titre "Pretty Horny Flow" est utilisé par Renault pour sa campagne de publicité réalisée à l’occasion de l’Euro 2004.

Phénomène en concert, le groupe compte près de 300 dates de concert en 3 ans entre la Belgique, les Pays-Bas, l'Allemagne et la France.

En janvier 2010, le groupe obtient quatre Music Industry Awards (MIA's) avec son album Absynthe Minded sorti fin 2009 en Belgique (sortie française : 14 juin) :

L'album Absynthe Minded obtient en février 2010 le récompense du disque de platine en Belgique pour 30 000 copies vendues. Entre 2010 et 2011. Le groupe enchaine les dates, en France, Allemagne, Angleterre, Pays-Bas et Belgique.^{[réf. nécessaire]}

Juillet 2011, Absynthe Minded commence à travailler sur leur nouvel album qu'ils devraient enregistrer à l'automne 2011 pour un sortie en 2012.^{[réf. nécessaire]}
