Les Cord L-29 sont les premiers modèles d'automobiles du constructeur américain Cord Automobile construites entre 1929 et 1931.
Historique
En 1929, Errett Loban Cord lance cette Cord L-29, première traction avant à avoir été construite en série (contre 1934 pour la Citroën Traction Avant).
Elle reçoit également le premier châssis américain en forme de croix en X. Elle est motorisée par le huit cylindres en ligne Lycoming à soupapes latérales, de 4,9 litres pour 125 ch.
Dessinée par le styliste Alan Leamy, elle est proposée en quatre types de carrosseries d’usine, berline normale, berline Brougham, cabriolet et phaéton. Sans compter les créations des carrossiers. Elle remporte à l’époque de nombreux concours d’élégance aux États-Unis comme en Europe.
Cord prévoit de lancer une L30, projet abandonné en raison de la conjoncture économique.
