David Banner de son vrai nom Levell Adrian Crump né le 11 avril 1973 est un rappeur, producteur, directeur de label et philanthrope américain originaire de Jackson (Mississippi).

Biographie

Son pseudonyme s'inspire de la série L'Incroyable Hulk, il étudie "Northwest Jackson Middle School". Puis il obtient un diplôme de Southern University à Bâton-Rouge, où il est élu Président de l'association des étudiants de l'université.

Son père était chef de la caserne de pompier à Jackson (Mississippi).

Il a créé une association "Heal The Hood Foundation" en 2005 et aide des personnes qui ont subi l'Ouragan Katrina.

Musique

Il sort son premier album en 2000 "Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1" avec la participation de divers rappeurs (Pimp C, Fiend, Devin The Dude, Kamikaze, Bone Crusher, Young Bleed, N.O.R.E., Ras Kass, Jazze Pha) sur un label indépendant.

En 2003 il sort l'album "Mississippi: The Album" distribué par Universal Records, qui sera n°1 au Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums et 9e Top Billboard 200.

En 2006, il sort plusieurs chansons pour le jeu vidéo Saints Row comme "Get Your Guns"
