The Desperate Bicycles est un groupe punk britannique. Il s'est formé en 1977.
Productions discographiques
La philosophie de leur production est d'expérimenter ce qu'ils pouvaient produire avec le moins d'argent possible.
Le résultat fut le single Smokesreen, pressé à 500 exemplaires sur le label Refill qu'ils avaient créer pour l'occasion, le tout pour la somme de 153£. Il fut repressé à 1000 exemplaires et rapidement épuisé.
Leur seconde réalisation, le single The Medium Was Tedium fut pressé à 1000 exemplaires et épuisé au bout d'une semaine.
En 1978 le groupe enregistra le EP New Cross New Cross et deux single Occupied Terrotory et Grief Is Very Private
En 1980 Dave Papworth et Nicky Stephens furent remplacés par Dan Electro (Guitare) et Jeff Titley (Batterie), l'album Code Remorse fut enregistré.
Le groupe se sépara en 1981
