Dieter Dierks

Dieter Dierks (né à Stommeln près de Cologne) est un producteur de musique allemand principalement connu pour sa collaboration avec le groupe de rock Scorpions.

Carrière

Dierks commença sa carrière musicale en produisant bon nombre de groupes rock allemand au début des années 1970 comme Hush, Ash Ra Tempel, Nektar (qui faisait partie du projet Cosmic Jokers) et Tangerine Dream, et devenant rapidement une des plus grandes figures de ce que l'on appelle le "Krautrock" .
Mais c'est en 1975 que Dierks découvre réellement sa passion pour le hard rock lorsque lui et sa femme croisèrent le chemin du groupe Scorpions alors assez peu connu. Dierks s'associa alors avec le groupe et devint la force dirigeante derrière lui - souvent considérée comme étant le "6ème Scorpions" - produisant dix de leurs albums studios et live entre 1975 et 1988 (In Trance, Virgin Killer (1976), Taken by Force (1978), Tokyo Tapes (1978), Lovedrive (1979), Animal Magnetism (1980), Blackout (1982), Love at First Sting (1984), World Wide Live (1985), et Savage Amusement (1988)). Le long de ces 13 années, Scorpions devint le plus grand groupe allemand de tous les temps, connaissant un succès mondial et vendant plusieurs dizaines de millions d'albums.
Après sa séparation de Scorpions en tant que leur producteur, Dierks produisit entre autres un album de Twisted Sister, plusieurs albums de Accept et travailla avec Michael Jackson. Il a de plus inventé une nouvelle technologie, le dvd-plus (semblable au dual disc).

Dierks Studios

Dierks créa ses propres studios d'enregistrement, les Dierks Studios, près de Colgne en Allemagne. C'est là que de nombreux artistes de renommée internationale travaillèrent et enregistrèrent comme Accept, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Twisted Sister, Scorpions, Timothy Leary, Die Toten Hosen, Rory Gallagher, Tangerine Dream.
