Dorothea Mackellar OBE (1885-1968), poétesse et écrivain australienne. Elle écrit My Country en 1908, un des poèmes les plus célèbre d'Australie. Elle a écrit la poésie évocatrice en tant qu'Australienne nostalgique à Londres. Rejetant les notions d'anglophilie de son époque, elle a déclaré :
- J'aime un pays brûlé par le soleil,
- Une terre de vastes plaines,
- De chaines de montagne déchiquetées,
- De sécheresse et d'inondations.
- J'aime ses horizons lointains,
- J'aime le bijou qu'est sa mer,
- Sa beauté et sa terreur
- C'est pour moi, la grande terre brune !.[1]
