Encyclopædia Iranica

Encyclopædia Iranica est un grand projet du centre d'études iraniennes de l'Université de Columbia consistant à créer une encyclopédie en langue anglaise à propos de l'histoire et de la culture de l'Iran (Perse).

Douze volumes ont déjà été publiés, sur un total prévu de 30 volumes. Elle est éditée par Ehsan Yarshater et toute une équipe dirigée par Mahmoud Khayami, incluant 40 éditeurs et 910 auteurs universitaires aux États-Unis, en Europe et en Asie, dont Nicholas Sims-Williams, Richard Nelson Frye, Gherardo Gnoli, Xavier de Planhol, Hamid Algar, Christoph Marcinkowski et d'autres.[1]

Depuis 1979, elle a été sponsorisée par le National Endowment for the Humanities[2] (NEH) et des fonds lui ont été versés par le NEH et diverses organisations charitables ou individus.

Le texte complet des articles est disponible à la consultation en ligne. Les utilisateurs de PC ont besoin de seulement une police de caractères gratuite à télécharger, afin de pouvoir lire les caractères et accents convenablement.
