Warmia ou Ermland (en allemand) (ou Warmie ou Ermland ou Ern ou Varmie[1]) est un évêché de l'ancienne Pologne.

Histoire

Territoire conquis par les chevaliers teutoniques sur les yotvingiens baltes au XIIe siècle, l'évêché d’Ermeland avait pour capitale Heilsberg (mais le chapitre cathédral résidait à Frauenburg). Par le Traité de Thorn (1466), les chevaliers teutoniques cédèrent ce territoire au Royaume de Pologne, qui le rattacha à la Prusse royale. Lors du Premier partage de la Pologne, l'évêché d’Ermeland passa au Royaume de Prusse, qui le rattacha en 1772 à la Prusse-Orientale où il formait trois subdivisions administratives. Il fut rendu à la Pologne après la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.

L'Ermeland s'étendait de la lagune de la Vistule à l'intérieur des terres, entre la Poméranie et la Mazurie jusqu'à la frontière de la Grande Pologne. Il dépend maintenant de la province (Voïvodie) de Varmie-Mazurie.
