Golani
Golani est le nom d'une brigade de Tsahal. Elle fut officiellement fondée en 1948 et opéra dans le nord de la Galilée et la vallée du Jourdain sous les ordres du Colonel Avi Peled.
Même si elle n'est en rien composée de volontaires, c'est sur demande que la majeure partie des soldats y est incorporée.
Les principales missions de Golani sont les entraînements adaptés à l'hiver et à l'été, la surveillance des frontières, l'activité opérationnelle, les embuscades, et les patrouilles de jour comme de nuit. L'unité est spécialisée dans les combats au moyen de "Nagmash" — véhicule d'artillerie lourde. Golani comprend une unité spéciale, Egoz, préparée aux actions anti-terroristes.
Parmi ses faits de guerre marquants, il y a lieu de noter la prise du château de Beaufort, au Liban sur les Palestiniens, pendant l'opération Paix en Galilée, en 1982.
