The Great Exhibition (Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all Nations), encore appelée la Grande Exposition de 1851 de Londres est le nom qui désigne une exposition universelle qui a eu lieu en 1851.

Elle a été conçue pour témoigner du progrès du monde des machines et des produits manufacturés, sculptures, matières premières, et les fruits du développement industriel et de son imagination illimitée dans le design industriel.

Son ouverture officielle eut lieu à Hyde Park, dans le bâtiment de ce qui fut le Crystal Palace, une énorme bâtisse en verre, de Joseph Paxton (1801-1865).

Ce projet fut lancé et promu notamment par le prince Albert de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, l’époux de la reine Victoria d’Angleterre, et Henry Cole, employé aux archives, et fondateur des éphémères mais influentes manufactures d’art de Summerley.
