Gregg Popovich

Gregg Popovich (né le 28 janvier 1949 à East Chicago, Indiana) est un entraîneur de basket-ball américain d'origine serbe.

Après avoir été assistant de Larry Brown aux San Antonio Spurs, il est nommé entraîneur des Spurs au cours de la saison 1996-97. Il mène les Spurs à deux titres de champion en 1999 et en 2003, grâce à son duo d'intérieurs Tim Duncan et David Robinson, ainsi que l'apport des futures stars de l'équipe que sont Tony Parker et Manu Ginobili en 2003.
En 2004, il assiste à nouveau Larry Brown à la tête de la sélection nationale américaine à l'occasion des JO d'Athènes.

En 2005, il emmène l'équipe de San Antonio et son trio Duncan-Ginóbili-Parker jusqu'aux finales NBA pour s'imposer en sept manches face aux Detroit Pistons de Larry Brown.

En 2007, il ramène à nouveau le titre au Texas après une victoire des Spurs face aux Cleveland Cavaliers de LeBron James lors d'une finale en quatre manches (4-0).
