Haute École Roi Baudouin

La Haute Ecole Roi Baudouin (HERB) est un établissement d'enseignement supérieur de types court et long dont le siège est situé à Mons, en Belgique.

Historique

Dans le cadre de la réforme de l'enseignement supérieur en Communauté Française de Belgique, un décret prévoyait la création de hautes écoles pour remplacer les multiples instituts d'enseignement supérieur proposant quelques sections seulement. C'est donc en 1996 que la Haute École Roi Baudouin a été fondée, établissant son siège social Chaussée du Roeulx à Mons.

Les instituts qui ont été regroupés :

  • Institut Reine Astrid Mons (IRAM) - Formation : Informatique de gestion - Publicité - Comptabilité - Secrétariat- Automobile -
  • Institut Supérieur Industriel Catholique du Hainaut (Charleroi-ISICHt)
  • Institut Supérieur Industriel Catholique du Hainaut (Mons-ISICHt)
  • Institut Supérieur des Sciences Humaines Appliquées (ISSHA)- Formation d'assistants Sociaux
  • Institut Supérieur de Formation Economique du Centre (ISFEC)
  • Ecole d'infirmiers & infirmières St-Philippe de Jolimont
  • Ecole Normale de Braine-le-Comte (ENBLC)

Un nouveau bâtiment est en construction depuis mai 2007 sur un terrain du campus des FUCaM, à la Chaussée de Binche. Cette construction, qui devrait rassembler progressivement l'ex-IRAM, l'ex-ISICHt (Mons) et l'ex-ISSHA, suscite enthousiasme (réduction des coûts, bâtiment moderne, plusieurs milliers d'étudiants au sein du même immeuble) et critiques (coût de la construction, distance élevée du centre-ville). Le terme prévu pour la première phase est la rentrée 2008, à laquelle certaines sections devraient y emménager. Un parking sera construit permettant au étudiants d'y garer leur voiture.

La date de déménagement vers le site de la FUCAM ( ISSHA-IRAM) serait prévu pour fin Janvier 2009
