Harald Bohr (né le 22 avril 1887 à Copenhague, Danemark - mort le 22 janvier 1951 à Copenhague) est un mathématicien danois. Il a surtout travaillé sur la répartition des nombres premiers parmi les nombres entiers. Il fut également l'un des meilleurs footballeurs danois, et fut médaillé d'argent au Jeux olympiques d'été de 1908.

Biographie

Fils de Christian Bohr et Ellen Adler, il est le frère de Niels Bohr.

Il a notamment travaillé sur les méthodes de sommation des séries de Dirichlet. À partir de ce travail et pendant une bonne partie de sa vie, il travaille sur la répartition des nombres premiers parmi les nombres entiers en collaboration avec Edmund Landau. En 1914, ils rédigent ensemble le théorème Bohr-Landau. Ils découvrent notamment une égalité fondamentale pour les fonctions presque périodiques, qui ressemble à l'égalité de Parseval pour les séries de Fourier. En 1915, Bohr devient professeur à l'école Polytechnique Lehranstalt à Copenhague. Avec Mollerup, il rédige le théorème de Bohr-Mollerup selon lequel, parmi les fonctions f telles que f(1) = 1 et \forall x>0, xf(x)=f(x+1), la logarithmique convexité caractérise la fonction gamma[1]. En 1930, il devient professeur à l'Université de Copenhague.

Harald Bohr a fait partie de l'équipe danoise de football (médaille d'argent aux Jeux olympiques de 1908), en infligeant à l'équipe de France la plus lourde défaite de son histoire (17-1). Il inscrivit deux buts dans ce tournoi contre la France B.
