James Pustejovsky est un professeur américain d'informatique à l'Université de Brandeis à Waltham (Massachusetts). Son principal sujet de recherche est le Traitement automatique des langues.
Pustejovsky a proposé la théorie du Lexique génératif (Generative Lexicon) en sémantique lexicale. Il s'intéresse également au raisonnement temporel, aux événements, à l'extraction d'information, à la linguistique informatique.
Recherches en cours
Parmi les projets en cours du groupe de recherche de Pustejovsky, on peut mentionner les projets TimeML et Medstract. L'objectif de TimeML est de créer un langage de balisage pour les événements temporels dans un document. Le projet Medstract cherche à extraire l'information de documents médicaux en utilisant une technologie de traitement du langage naturel.
