Jerry Orbach, né le 20 octobre 1935 et décédé le 28 décembre 2004 d'un cancer de la prostate, est un acteur américain.

Biographie

Jerry Orbach est surtout connu pour avoir interprété le rôle de Lennie Briscoe dans la télésérie New York District. Sur le bureau de Briscoe, il y a une plaquette où figure « Leonard W. Briscoe », d'où le surnom de « Lennie ».

Il fut remarqué dans la série Arabesque, dans laquelle il incarnait le détective privé de Boston, Harry MacGraw, ami de Jessica Fletcher. Harry MacGraw est un personnage qui apparaît de temps en temps dans la série et lorsque certains épisodes sont centrés sur lui, cela donne l'idée à la production de donner à Jerry Orbach le rôle principal dans la série Martin Landau dans Crimes et délits de Woody Allen, et celui du père de Jenifer Grey dans Dirty Dancing. Il a prêté sa voix à Lumière dans La Belle et la Bête et ses suites, dessins animés dans lesquels on peut l'entendre s'exprimer dans un français parfait.
