John Kennedy (né le 18 août 1983 à Bellshill) est un footballeur professionnel écossais qui joue actuellement au poste de défenseur central au Celtic FC. Il fait ses débuts en équipe première lors de la saison 1999/2000 mais se fait réellement un nom lors d'un mémorable 1/8 de finale retour de la coupe de l'UEFA 2004 au Camp Nou entre le FC Barcelone et le Celtic FC qui se solde sur le score de 0-0 et d'une qualification pour les 1/4 de finale pour le Celtic FC. Après 3 ans d'absence suite à une grave blessure au genou (rupture du Ligament croisé antérieur) suivie de 4 opérations, il a rejoué en équipe première pour le match du sacre du 41e titre de champion de son club à Kilmarnock (victoire 2-1) en avril 2007. Pour la saison 2008-2009 il pourrait être prêté au Motherwell FC pour relancer sa carrière suite à une nouvelle blessure sérieuse au genoux contractée lors d'un match de ligue des champions face au Shakhtar Donetsk. Finalement il est prêté pour 6 mois à Norwich City en championship (la deuxième division anglaise).
