Jolo est une île volcanique du sud-ouest des Philippines. Elle est située dans l'archipel des Sulu, entre Mindanao et Bornéo. Jolo est aussi le nom de la ville principale qui est la capitale de la province de Sulu et où vivent un tiers de la population de l'île. L'île comprend de nombreux cônes et cratère volcanique dont l'actif Bud Dajo.
Actualités
L'île connait des troubles opposant plusieurs milliers de soldats philippins et environ 800 activistes islamiques du groupe Abu Sayyaf.
