Joseph Nyumah Boakai (né le 30 novembre 1944) est, depuis le 16 janvier 2006, vice-président du Liberia. Boakai est membre du Parti de l'unité. Il a étudié au College of West Africa et à l’Université du Liberia à Monrovia, puis à l’Université du Kansas, où il fut diplômé de l’Agence américaine pour le développement international. Boakai fut ministre de l’Agriculture du Liberia de 1983 à 1985.
