Un label (de l'anglais label signifiant « étiquette ») est une société éditrice de disques et CD. Elle est chargée d'éditer et de distribuer les disques. Le label est par extension la marque déposée par cette société.

Les quatre labels les plus importants (major du disque : Universal, Sony BMG, EMI et Warner) se partagent l'essentiel du marché mondial (plus de 77% en 2004). De très nombreux petits labels ou labels indépendants (voire maintenant de net labels) se partagent le reste du marché. Un artiste peut également s'autoproduire.

Label est un anglicisme qui peut être remplacé, dans ce cas, par marque[1] ou étiquette. On rencontre souvent l’expression «sous étiquette». Exemple : l’album est disponible sous étiquette EmiVirgin, elle enregistre aussi sous étiquette Sony[2]. On utilise aussi l'expression « maison de disques »[3].
