Dans la mythologie mésopotamienne, le Lammasu est une créature légendaire possédant une tête d'homme, un corps de lion et des ailes d'aigle. Ils gardaient les temples (généralement par deux) et tuaient tous ceux qui s’en approchaient, hormis les hommes purement bons ou totalement mauvais.
