Laugh? I Nearly Bought One! est la seconde compilation d'enregistrements studio du groupe Killing Joke. Elle offre une vue d'ensemble sur la production musicale du groupe de 1980 à 1990 et son élaboration a été l'occasion de la reformation de Killing Joke[1]. En effet, c'est Youth, ancien bassiste, qui évoque cette idée lors de séances de travail avec Geordie Walker, le guitariste emblématique du groupe.

Il est à noter que c'est l'un des seuls albums du groupe à avoir bénéficié du soutien financier substantiel d'une major, en l'occurrence Virgin Records, qui a assumé l'intégralité du coût de production de cette compilation.
