Barbara Chase-Riboud

Barbara Chase-Riboud (née à Philadelphie en 1939) est à la fois écrivain, sculpteur et poète, diplômée de l'université Yale, chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. Barbara Chase-Riboud a été faite à plusieurs reprises, aux États-Unis, docteur honoris causa pour son œuvre littéraire. En 1979, La Virginienne est primé comme le meilleur ouvrage de fiction écrit par une femme américaine. Elle est également l'auteur de Portrait of a Nude Woman as Cleopatra qui fut couronné en 1988 par le Prix de poésie Carl Sandburg, de La Grande Sultane et du Nègre de l'Amistad, autres très grands succès[1],[2].

Elle est l'épouse du photographe Marc Riboud et vit à Paris.
