Le Championship, (aussi appelé Co-operative Championship pour des raisons de sponsoring), est la compétition de rugby à XIII située en dessous de la Super League Europe. Avant 2009, cette compétition était strictement composée de clubs anglais et s'appelait la National League One. Avec l'inclusion de Toulouse en 2009, le championnat a changé de nom pour marquer cette nouvelle dimension. Il fait à présent de facto office de deuxième division, en dessous de la Super League Europe.

En 2009, la compétition est composée de onze clubs professionnels ou semi-professionnels. La fédération irlandaise a émis le souhait de voir un club irlandais inclus dans la competition[1].

Diffusion TV

En 2009, Orange Sport TV diffusera plusieurs des matchs du Toulouse Olympique[2].

Les matches suivant seront retransmis en direct: TO-Leigh le 18 avril; TO-Featherstone le 27 juin; Barrow-TO le 2 juillet; TO-Widnes le 25 juillet. Toutes les rencontres du TO à domicile retransmises en direct se disputeront à Blagnac, sur le stade Ernest-Argeles[3].
