Jedediah Cleishbotham est un rédacteur imaginaire des Contes de mon hôte de Walter Scott. Selon Scott, c’est un maître d’école et un clerc de paroisse à Gandercleugh. Scott affirme qu'il a vendu les histoires aux éditeurs et que ceux-ci les ont fait compiler par le maître d’école Peter Pattieson, à partir des contes rassemblés par le propriétaire de l'auberge de Wallace à Gandercleugh.
